HIGH SUMMER

Kudos to last week's straight-out diamond pilots, Karl Sommer and Peter Kovari, for soaring just over 500 kilometers to Hurricane, UT on a really tough day.   Read about the nail-biter in our new SOARING IS LEARNING, below. The present weekend may be one of this season's jewels.   If winds are lighter each day as expected, look for terrific thermal lift, and clouds very high if any.   Even if our local sky remains cloudless, there should also be plenty of entertainment as huge walls of overdevelopment build each day, many miles east.   (And if we happen to get a taste of that it'll likely be the grandest hour of the month.)
