Our kudos last week went to Merrick Cohn for his first solo glider flight. (With so many new student pilots lately, it looks like we’ll be needing more sailplanes…)
The past several days have been unusually cloudy like an early version of our yearly ‘monsoon’, though not bringing a drop of rain until today (Thursday). Fact: the shade is welcome after a prior period of intense heat, and of course that Mojave sun will be back soon enough. Clearing should finally come on Saturday with seasonable thermal conditions, and any strengthening of the southwesterly flow will generate shearlines – or even wave late in the day.
