SOARING FORECAST AUGUST 25-27, 2012

THIS WEEK:
Great lift up to 600 FPM to over 12,000 feet is forecast this weekend.
Temperatures have returned to normal after an extended period of above average heat. A drier airmass has pushed in and the monsoonal moisture has moved out and taken with it the thunderstorms and overdevelopment.
Winds will be very gentle to calm for the next few days. Still great cross-country weather with many pilots doing good distance flights. Locally look for shear lines and convergence as the gentle south wind pushes the cool airmass from the valley into our area.

The National Weather Service is predicting the following local surface conditions for Saturday through Monday:

SATURDAY:
Sunny, Temperature: 93 degrees
Wind: Northwest 5 mph.

SUNDAY
Sunny, Temperature: 92 degrees
Wind: South 5 mph.

MONDAY:
Sunny, Temperature: 94 degrees
Wind: Southwest 10 mph.
