SOARING FORECAST - JULY 22 TO 25, 2011

CURRENT SOARING FORECAST FOR SCSA (CRYSTALAIRE - 46CN) JULY 22 TO 25, 2011 HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING IN OUR AREA WITH INCREASINGLY HOT TEMPS THIS PERIOD. Fantastic thermals should make it a fun weekend. Possibility of some monsoonal moisture to be drawn into our area Sunday onwards so expect the high temps to mix it up for some great cumulus development marking lift. Looks like Sunday onwards the height of thermal updrafts will easily enter the O2 requirement altitudes so remember to pre-flight your OXY system. Sundays wind forecast at 10,000 feet is directly out of the south. I am forecasting WAVE above the field and in our area. Monday may be similar.Be on the lookout for some unusual wind of high velocity through Sunday. The NOAA forecasters are predicting the highway 14 and soledad canyon areas to have very intense gusts due to an onshore airmass pushing in from the southweast. The wind will likely be confined to this choke point and our area is not under a wind advisory but stay on the alert regardless.
