WEEKEND SOARING FORECAST, SEPTEMBER 30 THROUGH OCTOBER 3, 2011

Nice pleasant weather conditions will prevail throughout this period with temps in the upper 80's to low 90's. There is some moisture in the atmosphere that will remain throughout the weekend but the chance of T-storms is low. The moisture means lift will likely be marked by puffy CU's. Excellent thermal potential to good heights is forecast. We flew Thursday and found vertical shear ie. northwest wind at the field and fast moving wind aloft out of the southeast. It will likely be similar for the next few days. That means finding and using shear lift will be the word of the day.

Dr. Jacks Soaring Predictions indicate SATURDAY we will have lift of 600 feet per minute to 13,500 feet at the field..SUNDAY Dr. Jack forecasts updraft strength of 550 FPM to 14,000 feet.
