WELCOME TO OCTOBER

Delightful time of year, isn't it?   Santa Ana winds are forecast for  this week, and up here in the high desert that typically means clear air and a good chance of special soaring conditions.  If the NE breeze is more easterly it doesn't do much for us and we'll have to rely on autumn thermals - but if it's more northerly we get upslope wind all along the San Gabriels, and if it's strong enough we might have bow wave (upwind of the mountains) as well.
