SCSA SOARING FORECAST NOVEMBER 15-18, 2013

THIS WEEK

We will have varying conditions this weekend. Although the temps are cool we will still have good soaring weather. Those that tow to the mountains should be able to extract some nice thermal slope lift staying up if paying attention. Thermal uplift velocities should be in the 300+ FPM range.
The passage of a front Friday through Saturday will mean wind will play a part in determining flight planning. Possible local wave conditions on Saturday due to fresh Southwest breezes.
Sunday and Monday after the passage of the front the wind will lie down and range from calm to very light. There will always be lift to be found this period -thermal, slope, convergence or wave. Have fun!

THIS WEEK

Calm to gentle wind and leisurely temperatures in the mid-seventies will make for easy living at the field this weekend.

Staying aloft will include looking for convergence and hunting down mountain induced thermal slope lift. Stay near the mountains and ridges and sharpen your repetoire. Impress us with your awesome ability to paste together a collage of upward aircraft movement.
